9 Wonderful Years

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful wife!!

Can you believe it has been 9yrs since we walked down the aisle and said "I do!"? So many things have changed in those 9yrs. We both have switched jobs. We have lived in five different cities and most notably we have added 2 wonderful children to our family. On 8/28/99 would you have thought that all of these things would have happened to us? One thing that has not changed is that you are still my best friend. Thank you for all that you do for me and our family.

The last 9yrs have been amazing and I can't wait to see what happens next for us.

Happy Anniversary and I Love You!

The Sweetest Sound

Baby Wonder had her first laugh. And it was amazing! She giggled a little high pitch squeak when Boy Wonder made funny faces at her. Is there anything sweeter than a baby's belly laugh? Is there anything cuter than a little brother trying to make is baby sister laugh over and over and over again?

Anyone Reading Who

Is there anyone reading who has sat in bumper to bumper traffic on their way to work and thought to them self, "Wouldn't it be funny to see the flock of geese flying overhead poop on that shiny black Lexus in front of me?" Only to be brought back to reality by the pinging sound of goose poop hitting the roof of your own car like it was target practice.

Anyone reading who thought as they scrubbed that goose poop off the car that karma bites?

It's Nice To Meet You

Baby Wonder got to meet her Great Grandma and Grandpa Baker recently. As you can imagine, she got loves of hugs and kisses.
The Wonder family would also like to say happy anniversary to Grandma and Grandpa! Here's to many more.

I Can't Believe He Did It

In June I surprised Papa Wonder with, if I do say so myself, an awesome date night. He responded and frankly, I don't think I can top it.

On my last day of my maternity leave, Papa came home with a dozen roses and two cards-one from the kids and one from him. When I opened the card from him there was a folded piece of paper. I opened it and froze. I literally sat there for five minutes reading the note again, and again. Finally, he asked me if I was OK. I sat there in complete shock and not able to move or say anything. We were going to New York for a weekend getaway! A weekend that would be just the two of us.

Can you believe it? He surprised me with a trip to NYC to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary! He arranged everything including for me to have a day off from work, his parents and sister to watch the kids, the hotel, and even dinner at an awesome restaurant.

We take turns planning our anniversaries. Last year we went to the Minnesota State Fair. While I love fried food on a stick and the smell of horse barns, NYC wins the coolest anniversary game hands down. We went to a Yankee's game and enjoyed a cold beverage, hot dog, and popcorn while we waited out the rain delay in the upper deck tunnel. It would have been nice if the weather would have been better, but we didn't care. We were at Yankee Stadium.

Once the rain lifted we made our way to our seats. It is really an awesome place and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. As I looked around and took in the crowd I did have to do a double take when I saw this man. It did make me throw up a little bit.

After the game we found a really cool diner in Times Square where the wait staff sings. It was like watching a Broadway show while eating onion rings. Does life get any better? I guess it did get better when they brought me my "Adult Milkshake." If you ever find yourself at this delightful little diner I recommend the White Russian. Yummy.

While were in NYC we stayed at the W Hotel. In a word-Trendy. It was a super cool place and the view wasn't bad from the 55th floor.

It was a whorl wind weekend that was over way too fast. It probably didn't help that we accidentally slept in to 11:00am on Saturday. We didn't think to set an alarm. In our defense, Boy Wonder has woken us up around 7am, if not earlier, for the past 3 years and it didn't occur to us that we even had the physical ability to sleep past 8am anymore.

NYC is such and amazing city. There is something for everyone. For us it had shopping in SoHo and Chinatown (I love to barter), dinner in Tribeca with Scott's work associates, a Sunday morning walk around the Upper East Side and 5th Ave, and breakfast in Central Park.

The best part was being with my best friend who I love so much! Thanks for making me the luckiest girl in the whole world. Not because you surprise me with great trips, but because I get to share my life with you. Happy Anniversary!

Good Times

One of my college roommates stopped by for a visit recently with her three children. Baby Wonder is 10 days younger than her friend Eli. It appears they have similar interests. Could it be the start of something?

Boy Wonder had a great time playing with Luke and they even had an all out water fight (in the yard of course).

It seems like just yesterday that we were young college kids. Now we need to save money so they can go to college.

Beach Party

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Last week I went back to work. It is amazing how fast the three months I was home went. I feel very blessed to have been able to spend so much time with Baby and Boy Wonder. I had so much fun with the kids this summer and our last day together was no exception.

We went to the splash pad. I love how the fountain looks like it is coming out of Boy Wonder's head.

We played Chutes and Ladders and hung out on the deck. The daycare kids were nowhere to be found so our charm must have warn off.

We made lots of bubbles and did lots of snuggling. OK, Baby Wonder did made most of the bubbles and I did the majority of the snuggling.

Thank you Baby and Boy Wonder for the great memories! They will last a lifetime.

River Birch

After months of talking about it and then the endless debate of what kind of tree to get, we finally have added a tree to our front yard. The tree did not come without the usual headaches of having something delivered. It was supposed to arrive on Tuesday so we had the hole dug on Monday to be ready. All of this was done for not, because the delivery didn't happen until Friday due to the "right equiptment" not being available. (The delivery guy later admitted it didn't get done Tuesday because he was on vacation early in the week.) While that didn't make Momma and Papa Wonder very happy, Boy Wonder had a blast with the new hole in the front yard.

Finally Friday arrived, and after several phone calls to make sure it was going to be delivered, a beautiful River Birch was in the ground.

A Picnic In the Park

One of the perks of being off during the summer is being able to have picnic lunches. We meet Papa Wonder for lunch recently at a really beautiful park between his office and our house. Boy Wonder liked the fountain and the fishing pier.

I think Baby Wonder also enjoyed herself.
