"I'm on Fire"

These are the words repeated over and over again as Boy Wonder rode his bike to the park for the first time. They were also accompanied by "I'm cruising now."

Papa took the kids to the driving range last night. When I asked Boy Wonder how it was he said "I smacked it really far." When did he get to be such a big boy?

And We Are Off...

There is no question about it, babies grow so fast. Before your eyes they move from one stage to the next, and with each stage a new chapter begins. For me each stage comes with mixed emotions of excitement and sadness. Excitement as they grow and learn new things, and a bit of sadness as they move farther from the little baby we brought home.

Yesterday Baby Wonder moved forward, and frankly, it terrifies me. She did something that I knew that one day she would, and I have been dreading it since she came home. She rolled over and became a baby on the move.

Boy Wonder was about the same age when he made the leap to being a baby on the move. I have been hoping that Baby Wonder would not follow in her brother's footsteps when it came to this chapter. But as with everything else, she has decided to do things her way. So baby girl, congratulations on your this big milestone! Mom and Dad are so proud of you, but if you wouldn't mind not crawling for awhile we would appreciate it.

So This is What it is Like...

To be an animal at the zoo. Our neighbor does day care and apparently we are fascinating to watch. At first Boy Wonder kept asking why are they watching us.
After awhile he started to entertain his adoring fans.

Here is what it is like to see Baby Wonder when she first wakes up in the morning.

Here is what it is like to wash the car on hot summer day.

Here is what it is like to love play baseball in the sprinkler.

Here is what it is like relax at the beach.

Two Months Old

Baby Wonder turned two months old this past week. She is getting so big! At her two month check up she weighed 12 lbs 8 ozs (90% percentile) and was 22 1/2 inches long (50% percentile). The doctor said she looked "perfect."

She is starting to smile so much and is even starting to baby babble. I think she even laughed the other day! She has been sleeping through the night (knocking on wood) and has been awake for a few hours at a time during the day.

We went to the zoo the other day. Below is how the zoo looks for Baby Wonder.

Here is how it looked for Boy Wonder and his friend Back Seat Girl and Back Seat Boy. The Minnesota Zoo has a really cool fountain for the kids to play in. Everyone had a great time and the kids are so cute I had to post their pictures!

Anyone Reading Who...

A local radio station's evening DJs do a spot called "Anyone listening who...?" They ask a variety of questions and listeners call in a share their relevant story on the radio. It is always interesting to hear other people's experiences.

Well I would like to welcome you to the first Anyone reading who...? Today's question:

Anyone reading who has dropped dinner on the floor?

In case you are wondering what this is that so closely resembles dog food when it is splattered on the floor, it's taco pie and it's delicious!

It Does Look a Little Like a Donkey

Boy Wonder loves convertibles. He looks for them whenever we are in the car and has decided that he wants a yellow or red one when he grows up. Today we were stopped next to one at a stop light. He announced that there was a woman and a donkey in the convertible. I looked over and noticed the woman, but no donkey. I did however, notice the convertible was a Mustang.

You Have Been Warned

There will be no need for Papa Wonder to be cleaning is shotgun when a suitor comes to call on Baby Wonder when she is old enough to date.* No, Papa and Mama will not have to use any scare tactics to ensure that the young man** treats our little lady like a princess. We won't have to rely and such things because Baby Wonder has Boy Wonder for her big brother, and if how protective he is of her already is any indication of how things will be then, I truly feel sorry for any young man she dates.

Boy Wonder is constantly telling Mama and Papa to be careful with Baby Wonder. He tells Mama not to drop her when she picks Baby up.*** He tells Papa to keep and eye on her and keep her safe. But last night we really got a taste of what is to come. During dinner Mama was telling Papa how Baby "didn't sleep for more that 45 minutes straight during the day which is so not like her." Boy Wonder looked at me with tears welling up in his eyes and a look of fury unlike anything I have ever seen on my sweet boys face and said "Why don't you like her?"

So young man that wants to date my darling daughter, take note. You have been warned. You better not put Baby Wonder in a corner or Boy Wonder will take you out back and show you who is boss.

*Old enough to date is 25 years old.
**Young man will be subjected to background, credit and drug testing.
***Mama has never dropped Baby so we are not sure why Boy Wonder is worried.
